We would like to alert our clients that a team of 5 State of Michigan Field Operations Treasury Officers are currently going door to door to businesses in Jackson County in order to level the playing field for business and find employers/businesses who are not registered and/or paying their share of taxes.

They are looking for your business’ sales tax license to be prominently displayed, as required by law.

If you are not required to remit sales tax, they will confirm ownership and number of employees with management, and check the State’s database to make sure that the business is registered and current with withholding taxes and business registrations.
