For 2016 the IRS has changed the due date for W-2’s and 1099’s. In prior years these forms were due to the employee/subcontractor by January 31st and due to the Social Security Administration and IRS by February 28th. This year all forms must be provided to all recipients, Social Security Administration and the IRS by January 31st.
The IRS has also changed the due dates for forms 1120 (C-corporations) and 1065 (Partnerships). Forms 1120 which were due March 15th will now be due on April 15th. Forms 1065 which were due on April 15th will now be due on March 15th.
